Kimberly Shay       Pilates, Yoga, Meditation and Breath Work Guide

After 17+ years of Sales experience in the Corporate world, in 2010 Kimberly found her purpose in teaching Yoga, guiding others through life-changing breath work practices, and working in holistic and indigenous Shamanic ceremonies. Over 11 years ago she had an amazingly spiritual experience while in the Amazonian jungle. This experience was so profound it changed her life forever. A shift in consciousness began a transformation that would alter her path through the physical world toward a deep journey into the inner world, which continuously unfolds for her. Kimberly has studied with Shamans in Peru and in the Pacific Northwest. Her yoga practice has blossomed in kind with her interests in Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda and Marma Therapy, Sacred Plants, Breath Work, Kirtan and Aerial Arts.

Kimberly was the owner of Becoming One for years, and is an initiated breath work healer, E-RYT 500 and recently STOTT Pilates Reformer Trained Teacher. She has practiced with and studied with teachers like Sadi Nardini, Kino McGregor, Liz Doyle, Jen Mitchell, Ali Valdez, Carina Terra, Michel Spruance and Tina Templeman. She earned her 200 hour RYT at Be Luminous Yoga in May of 2011. She completed her additional 300 hour yoga training with Megan Carroll and Jen Mitchell through Twist Yoga Edmonds earning her RYT 500 certification. She also mentored at Shakti with Lisa Black and has attended master workshops with teachers such Universal Yoga founder, Andrey Lappis and workshops for the Harmonium and Chanting with Girish. In May 2014, Kimberly began her studies with Vedic Conservatory's, Mukti (Michael Buck) and is interested in pursuing further training in this modality to then offer Vedic Thai Assisted Yoga.

In 2011, right after her 200 hour training, she went to New Mexico to study with David Elliott and a group of teachers and healers for all levels of Breath Work Healer training. She then became certified in this breath work as Facilitator and has been teaching this modality and guiding others in this practice through her Insight Breathing Circles since 2012.

She has a passion for blending many traditions together into an experience that will challenge the physical body with thoughtful asana, quiet the mind with mindfulness based awareness practice, develop connection to the natural world, and open the heart. Kimberly's approach is down to earth and joyful - bringing brightness, confidence and peace. Her goal, as a teacher and guide, is to offer others an empowering experience that they can apply in all areas of their lives.

She moved to the Sacred Valley of Peru in October of 2012 to help build a retreat center, taught yoga and breathwork as well as studied and guided others in Wachuma and Ayahuasca ceremonial space with known Andean healers. Since moving back to Seattle in August of 2014, she has been reigniting her well-loved Breathing Circles, and teaching many forms of Yoga at local studios.

You can find her teaching at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers, Harbor Square Athletic Club, Yoga Sanctuary Studio and soon Pilates at Bodyworks Pilates and Woodway Wellness in Edmonds.
